Elmer

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board SOLD - Thank you! Boy did I struggle with painting today!  I painted and scraped, painted and scraped.  After about 3 hours of this kind of punishment, I was ready to give up and I felt tears coming.  This is nothing new to me or any other artist.  I almost gave up, but I said one more time and then...well let me introduce you to Elmer.

Orange Julius

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Click to Bid Drying on the easel now is this male Hummingbird loaded with color.  I'm thinking he's a Rufous but not sure.  I'll have to do some research.  Caesar, who is listed below, is a wanted hummer and this artist is happy.  Although I do not know the identities of the bidders currently duking it out on www.dailypaintworks.com I thank them for staying in the game.  The auction ends tonight and the auction for Orange Julius starts today.

Caesar

4 x 4 inches Oil on Board Click to Bid This is another male Hummingbird painting.  I really think these Hummer's tell me what there name is before I even finish.  This bird has a regal demeanor and royal attire so of course he's a Caesar!

Oliver

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Buy on Etsy I think I'm on a hummingbird series.  They are such hard working little birdies.  I wanted to paint a male hummer today and Oliver is the result.

Expecting Twins

5 x 5 inches Oil on Board SOLD - Thank you! This little lady is waiting and resting up.  She worked hard to make her little nest.  One thing I did not know, is that Hummingbirds make silk to build and attach their nests.

Alexandra

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board Click to Bid What a terrible time I had today painting.  I tried to paint three other Hummingbird poses and had to scrape all of those and start again.  It's because of the events unfolding in Watertown/Boston, MA.  When Things like this happen, I usually stay glued to the TV.  But I wanted to exercise my hard earned creative license and  like most Americans, I don't want to let this event mar me.  If I'm honest it has.

Jackson, my Scion

6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board, Collection of the Artist My husband and myself set out to get me a new car a few months ago.  We were introduced to this car.  For me, It was love at first sight.  For Neill, well not so much...he had to get the best "deal".  He coached me on the way to the dealership, to make sure that I don't let the salesman know that I like or want a car that is shown.  Well, forget that.  I wanted this car and he was the first to know it!.  Neill did make a good "deal" and I gave my car a name: Jackson Jackson and I get all kinds of smiles and questions by fellow drivers.  Jackson is a Scion IQ and gets great mileage.  I knew that I'd be making a painting of this car but was waiting for the confidence and inspiration to strike.  Today was that day.

Olivia

4  x 4 inches, Oil on Board Sold I knew going into this painting, that I couldn't top Julie.  But Olivia is close and I'm very happy with this painting.  I'm finding that I love painting hummingbirds just as much as I love hummingbirds!

Just Pinky

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Sold Decided today would be a great day to paint another Big-Bottomed Bee piece.  When I start a BBB, I always let the "girls" talk and have the final say as to how the painting turns out.  In this case, they are tickled pink that spring has arrived and are on their first outing.

Julie

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board S old Julie is a sweet little Hummingbird.  I'm so happy with the outcome of this painting because there is the feeling of flight.

Hugs and Kisses

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board S old - Thankyou This little Hummingbird looks like he's going to give a hug and a kiss.  He's very happy.

Pink Stockings

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board Buy on Etsy This ewe has a pink face and legs.  Couldn't resist naming the painting pink stockings.

The Fly-by

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board S old - Thank you! Here is a little sweet little hummingbird doing what they do best...being cute and adorable.

Rooster 6

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Buy now on Etsy Another Rooster is on the small easel drying and this is what he looks like.  My husband and I have been fighting the cold bug that is going around.  I've been taking a lot of vitamin C and it's helping.

Strong Road Ewe

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board Click to Bid Another ewe.  Can't resist painting these little love-bugs, especially this time of year when spring is almost here.

Miss Chicken

6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board NFS Last week I received a very important package in the mail.  It was the traveling chicken and her entourage.  I was so very happy because I've been waiting for my turn to paint her for more than a few months.  For more information on the traveling chicken click here   The Traveling Chicken Blog

The Little TV That Could

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board Click here to Bid I love all manner of items from the 1950's - 70's.  I especially like the portable TVs of the time, so I decided to paint one today.  Although this is my first vintage TV painting, I'm very sure it won't be my last.

Rooster in the Hay

6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board  Click here to Bid I'm really enjoying creating paintings of Roosters.  The most fun is their feathers followed by trying to capture their attitudes.
