Waiting

"Waiting" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel, $40. Buy on Etsy Waiting for the Superbowl, waiting for Spring, waiting for a clipping?  I'm waiting for two out of the three.  I think I'm looking forward to Superbowl as much as Spring.  Let me clear the air, I'm NOT a football fan, but Superbowl not only features two great teams playing with top skill, but great commercials and a half-time show to boot.  I make crockpot chili and appetizers.  We eat all day.  Love it.

Spots & Snow

Spots & Snow, 6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board, $65. Sold, Thank you! I have painted from this photo reference before.  The challenge is to do something different and with so much snow and cold winter weather, what else could I do?  Warm my heart with this little piglet romping and enjoying the snow!

Superbear Football

Superbear Football, 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Bid on Ebay Another entry for Nibblefest.  This month's theme is "Blue" and I painted a polar bear laying down for the first entry.  I didn't pay attention to the detail of keeping the auction until January 27.  So I'm entering this piece and being sure to end the auction on the 27. As with any Nibblefest auction this piece starts at .99 cents.  Football fans...let the bidding begin

Ginger the Pigmy Goat

"Ginger" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Pigmy Goat Click to Bid Everyone knows I love to paint animals and that I love to paint in oil.  Today, I wanted to focus on brushwork and hopefully use it to form Ginger.  I'm pleased with the results.  For a while, she was looking more like a doggie...had to keep at it to get the the goat in her to come out.

After the Superbowl Blues

"After the Superbowl Blues"   4 x 4 inches, NFAC, Oil on Board Bid Now How many of you are spellbound for a minute or two after the Superbowl?  I know I'm either upset at the fantastic plays of the opposing team or elated by the fantastic plays of my team!  Either way, I need a few minutes to gather my thoughts. So this polar bear was painted today for the NFAC or Nibblefest Art Contest and this months's theme is Blue.  I thought about Blue for a few days and decided this would best represent that theme for me.

Galloping Sheep

"Galloping Sheep" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board S old, thank you What more can you say about this painting?  Just that they really need a haircut.  Let's just say their coupon expired.  They don't know it yet.

And Mama Makes Three

"And Mama Makes Three" 6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board $ 65. Buy on Etsy Whew! it's been too long since I've been in the studio.  I don't want that many days to go by again without painting.  Anyway, life since last post has involved decluttering, organizing and deep cleaning.  One has a (almost false) sense of being functional when a fete like this is accomplished.  It won't last long, but I'm enjoying living in my house again. This piece needed to be toned down.  It was too storybook looking and then I simplified the greens and background and also toned the yellow of the chicks abit.  Happy about the outcome now.  Off to painting some sheep next.

Up in the Air About It!

"Up in the Air About It! 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board I couldn't resist the title with this piece. Can you see this is a rooster?    I was able to get back to the studio to paint today and I guess everything is back to normal, although my Christmas decorations are still up.  That might change tomorrow.
