Fred

"Fred" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel - Sold!   "Fred" is the owl of second chances.  It's a bit of a story, but he wouldn't have been created if there wasn't a strong need for him.  So "Fred" is drying and will be on his way to his adopted family later this week

Imogene

"Imogene" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Decided today would be a good day to paint a kitty!

Vera the Hummingbird

"Vera" 4 x 4 inch, Oil Painting of Female Hummingbird Buy on Etsy Here is another Hummingbird.  Vera is a little green for a female, but she's ok with that and is happy to be in the air, on her way to a sweet meal.

Fritz the Owl

Fritz the Owl, 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel SOLD!  Thank you. This is my entry for the October Nibblefest Themed Art Contest.  October's theme is Owl.  You can plainly see I used my artist license here.  Nibblefest is a monthly contest where patrons can bid on artwork that starts at 99 cents.  Artwork is posted on the 20th of each month and all auctions and postings must be finished by the 27th.  Sounds like fun, well see what happens.

Mookie lV

"Mookie lV" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Click to Bid The final Mookie...Maybe I'll paint a few more but not right away.  Again, all four are entered in the "Four on Four" challenge from Carol Marine of Daily Paintworks.

Mookie, lll

"Mookie lll" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Click to Bid Mookie lll and Mookie lV were both painted today.  All four are inspired by this week's DPW challenge to paint for pieces of the same items.  The real Mookie almost went to charity during my last major decluttering episode.  I'm so glad I changed my mind.

"Mookie"Pose ll

"Mookie" Pose ll, 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Click to Bid I decided today to make a series of Mookie paintings.  I'll create four of them to post on this week's Daily Paintworks challenge from Carol Marine.  On another note, the phone calls and emails are coming my way for holiday commissions and I'm thankful.  Now off to work on a large commission.

"Mookie"

"Mookie, 4 x 4 inch, oil painting of a Jack Russell Click to Bid Ok, I fess up.  I had a very good model because Mookie is a figurine.  I actually wanted the outcome to look like a painting of a figurine.  But it really doesn't.  Looks like a good painting so I'm considering it a success.

The Start of Fall

"The Start of Fall" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel When I first started painting deer, I made them entirely orange/siena.  I realize that they are really a combination of that same orange, but also have grey tones.  I love their eyes but hate their appetite for my garden greens...especially my peas!

Honey Rose

Honey Rose, 4 x 4 inch Oil Painting on Board Sold, thank you! "Honey Rose"  is my entry for the Daily Paintworks weekly challenge which was to paint a bee.   I splashed  some paint on the background to symbolize the magic of of what bees do.

Herbert

"Herbert" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Sold, thank you! He's adorable and he knows it.  He's the result of me trying to paint a different subject today when what I wanted to paint was another Hummingbird.  So the first attempts at painting were scraped and shortly after Herbert came to be.

Everly

"Everly" 4 x 4 inches Oil on Panel Buy Now With Etsy Another Hummingbird and yes, he's a male hummer.  I'm going back to my former brand of brushes which is Escoda.  They are more expensive, but worth every penny.

The Queen Bee Understudies

"Queen Bee Understudies" 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Panel Click to Bid To all my Big-Bottomed Bee fans and collectors, it's been a long time since I've painted them.  Here is a sweet little painting that almost painted itself.  I love how soft these little girls are painted.  Something a little different for me.
