Snow in April

Snow in April

"Snow in April", 6 x 6 inches, oil on board, $ 60.00

Woke up this morning to a snow scene.  Just a few days ago, we enjoyed temperatures in the upper 70's.  I almost raked the leaves off my strawberry patch.  Glad I didn't.

My daughter, Amy suggested I paint from today's snow, so I looked out the studio window and thought, gee really?  But then, I looked out the clerestory window and got inspired to paint this little piece.  If Amy hadn't suggested this, I would not have thought to capture today's unusual weather.

I hear my poor mother trying to explain to Cooper that he can't jump on her lap for a back rub because she has a sore knee.  I can just imagine the tipped head and sad puppy-dog eyes he's giving her. When Cooper wants a back-rub, he jumps on your lap and sits with his back facing you.  My mom has a studio apartment in our home and he spends most of the day in her cozy apartment watching TV with her.

Cardinal Conclave

ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches Watercolor, $ 18. Buy with Paypal As of this posting the Roman Catholic Cardinals are still in conclave to discover the next pope.  I'm not Roman Catholic but I do have a wonderment about the this process because it's so entwined in mystery.   This little watercolor Cardinal was at my bird feeder where he grabbed a sunflower seed and quickly flew to a tree limb to perch and enjoy.  After which he waits his turn to return.

Little Dee, No.1

Little Dee, No. 1 - Oil on Canvas, 2 x 2 inches with Easel $20.  Buy with Paypal This is an experiment  to force myself to say more with less.  Painting with less brushwork because I have to!  Also, I don't paint on canvas, so I have to get use to that.  But I am having fun.
