Watercolor Snowman No. 8

ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches $ 12.- Buy on Etsy NY city was supposed to be deluged with an intense nor'easter.  Didn't happen.  I'm not sure if they got the projected 60 mile wind gusts either.  This snowman is dealing with a wind of some sort.  Could be hot air...just saying.

Holiday Snowman No. 2

Holiday Snowman No. 2, ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches Original Watercolor NFS Watercolor is so easy to overwork.  So a few of my earlier snowmen didn't pass muster.  But then this fella happened.  Glad to meet him, he had so much to say.  I'll probably paint in oil tomorrow.  Oil...my best buddy in the art world.

Holiday Snowman

Holiday Snowman, ACEO, Watercolor Sold - Thank you Thought I try my hand at watercolor again.  Snowmen are especially popular during Christmas.  Really, who can resist a smiling snowman painting.  I so admire the work of the children who create them.

Tippy Toes

Tippy Toes, ACEO, Watercolor Rooster  This little guy was painted yesterday.   Today, I wanted to paint a Junco at my bird feeder and I was able to snap some photos to work with.  I squeezed out my oils and got started.  Then as I was painting, I noticed a nuthatch right outside my studio window, perched nicely looking right at me.  I got out my camera and sketchbook.   I got a fuzzy picture and a bare-boned sketch before my friend left.  I was able to get most of the painting finished today...but not completely.  So stay tuned.

Bubbles & Bear

Bubbles & Bear, ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Watercolor $ 12. Buy on Etsy Everyone has heard the question delivered as a joke:  "medicine stopped working?"  Well in my case, yes it has and I have to wait another week before I can try again with a new medicine.  I'm not feeling well and so I'm doing small pieces in watercolor to try make the most of what I can do in a day.

Storybook Lamb ll

"Storybook Lamb ll", Artist Card, $ 12. Buy on etsy Another little Lamb painted in watercolor.  I seem to be liking the softness of thin watercolor washes in creating small paintings.   Today's Proverb:  "A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger." - Prov. 15:1

Storybook Lamb

Storybook Lamb, ACEO, Watercolor  I think the kid in me took over the studio today. I remember the library at the elementary school I attended.  When we had library time, I gravitated to the books illustrated with almost realistic paintings.  Soft watercolors.  Didn't matter much what was written, as much as how it was illustrated. Another Storybook Lamb will be in tomorrow's post.

Watercolor Hummingbird l

Watercolor Hummingbird l, 2.5 x 3.5 inches Buy now on Etsy This is an ACEO or Artist Card Edition or Original.  In this case, original of a little lady Hummingbird.  I've painted this pose twice in oils.  I'm hoping to do a series of watercolor Hummingbirds.   On another note, got my Shingles immunization today.  A very easy shot to take, so to all those baby-boomers who have turned 60, GET IT.  I'm so glad I did. I also was blessed to remove the net off my strawberry patch to find that the plants are loaded with berries.  OK, they're still white, but maybe in a week.  I mulched the patch and put the net back on to keep my berries protected from bugs and critters.  After more than 8 days of rain, it was so-o-o good to be outside in the garden again.
