Rex

"Rex" 6 x 6 inches, Oil on Gessoboard $ 65.  Buy on Etsy I use to be so-o-oo into Halloween.  But now, not so much.  However my love for Edger Allen Poe and Hollywood movie giants like...Oh...Boris Karloff has not waned and can throw me back to my teenage infatuation with scary.  So today, I painted "Rex" while listening to Mr. Karloff on YouTube.  This particular series featured audio for about 1.5 hours worth of 10 minute stories.  Perfect for studio work on Halloween!

Rooster 6

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Buy now on Etsy Another Rooster is on the small easel drying and this is what he looks like.  My husband and I have been fighting the cold bug that is going around.  I've been taking a lot of vitamin C and it's helping.

Rooster in the Hay

6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board  Click here to Bid I'm really enjoying creating paintings of Roosters.  The most fun is their feathers followed by trying to capture their attitudes.

Black Rooster

4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board $ 25. Buy now with Paypal Drying on my small painting easel is another Rooster.  I'm thinking of doing a Rooster series.  These birds are the bad boys of the farm and they can be very inspiring to paint.  There is a lot of artist licence to fall back on with this subject.  Painting a Rooster series could offer me a chance to have quite a bit of fun with color.   On another note, today is a very sad day, but yesterday was worse, because I received a phone call early in the morning that my Nephew died in his sleep.  He was only 35.  I was in complete shock and unable to do much with the day.  Today, I still carry a heavy heart, but I'm able to cope better. God Bless my Brother and our family as we process our loss.   God Bless Christians this Easter weekend.- B

White Rooster Struts

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board S OLD I've received some wonderful comments on yesterday's white rooster, so I decided to do another pose for today's painting.  I enjoyed breaking up the whites and graying down the greens and reds. Plus this guy has moxie!

White Rooster

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board S OLD March is a hard month because one is pretty sick of winter by the time March rolls around.  March of 2013 came in like a Lion and is going to go out the same...snow and cold.  So I'm feeling cabin fever and was wondering what to paint.  Decided a rooster would be good and because there is so much white in my world right now, so is this rooster and his world.
