"Bloomfield View in August" 6 x 6 inches, Oil on Gessoboard Etsy Shop   See the in process pictures  HERE I really enjoyed this painting.  Everything went smoothly and that just is not normal for me.  I wish I could say this is a plein air painting, but it's from one of my pictures.

Buy now on Etsy Artist Easel, Christmas Ornament, $14.00 I was inspired to make a Christmas Ornament just for artists and their trees!  The painting on the easel is a cropped print of one of my paintings that is bonded to the wood panel.  The panel is gorilla glued to the easel and passed the dropped test...stayed in one piece!   I added tiny pine cones and a red cloth ribbon for a rustic charm.   On another note, I'm going to start adding a Biblical Proverb a day to my blog.  Think of it as a nugget of Godly wisdom, based on common sense.  Below is today's: " Hear counsel and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in the latter end" - Prov 19:20

Kashong Road 10 x 14 inches, Oil on Panel This is a repaint of an older painting.  I originally painted this piece during the 2012 Billsboro Winery Plein Air Festival.  I picked up the painting at the end of this year's festival knowing I was going to do something.   That was two weeks ago and today was the day.  Below is what I started with.  I don't need to say more other than I like my repaint much better.  Is it still a Plein Air painting?  NO!  And I'm ok with that.

"Adirondack V", 6 x 6 inches, Oil on Panel Another Adirondack inspiration painting.  I'm really loving the combination of lake waters, assorted rocks and the backdrop of evergreens. On another note, I'll be participating in the 6th annual Billsboro Winery Plein Air Festival.  This is a 4 day event that features artists who come from pretty far away.  In case you don't know, Billsboro Winery  is quite involved in supporting the arts and oh yeah...Vincent Aliperti makes great wine!  I always look forward to this event.   

5 x 5 inches, oil on board Sold!  Thank you There is very little that's cooler than a tree house to a kid on summer vacation.  I've had the pleasure of hanging out in one or two as a kid.  Of course, outdoor doll houses are cool, but tree houses trump any  house, fort or hideout on the ground.  Maybe I can get Neill to build me one when he retires.

6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board Click to Bid A painting from one of my recent road trips to photograph inspirations.  I was challenged by the steep wooded hill behind the buildings.  Trying to capture more cast shadows in my paintings.

6 x 6 inches, Oil with Palette Knife http://www.dailypaintworks.com/buy/auction/104401 Another painting taken from my sketchbooks of a few years ago.  There are SO many views that are paintings waiting to happen, on I-90 or The New York State Thruway. I travel it more than a few times a year to visit family.  You really can't set up to paint, but quick sketching or photos can happen if you feel brave.

12 x 9 inches, Oil on Board  This is not a daily painting as it took two days to start and complete.  I'm a big fan of Black Bears of the Adirondack variety.  My mom was born and raised in Tupper Lake, NY and I still have precious family there.  My decorating style is Adirondack Lodge.  I also have several black bear paintings of mine hanging on my walls.  I think this may be another one! On another note, "Draw a Dinosaur Day is January 30, every year.  I plan to enter it again this year.  2012 was my first year entering.  No pressure, as you can make a doodle or a painting.  Just do it and upload it on January 30.

5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board Another red barn!  I'm going back to my favorite subject to paint...Barns.  I'm totally in love with barns.  As winter grows closer for tomorrow, for today, I'm painting Spring.

DPW Street Challenge 5 x 7 inches, Oil on Board The first time I tried to paint this challenge,  turned out to be a scraper.  Then a couple of days flew by without being able to get easel time.  I'm pleased with this attempt. I'm just getting my feet wet painting urban scenes and I never thought I'd put much effort into painting cars.  But I've found that I like doing both. Years ago, I cut my painting teeth on old barns.  Back then, I was new to rural life and totally entranced by the many wonderful old barns and beautiful country views of my neighborhood.    I'm so glad I found Daily Paintworks and joined the daily painting movement.  Because now, I can paint in the studio or out.  The goal is to start and complete a painting every day.  For me M- F.  The resulting paintings sell easier because they are smaller and easy to build on for the collector. I have grown so much sin...

Like most of working Americans I'm glad it's Friday.  Tonight is my night off from cooking and even though I use to have Neill take me to a restaurant, we have been ordering takeout.  We are blessed to have a great Italian pizzeria that will deliver more than a few miles from their shop.  Love their food! This painting is another in my sheep series.  I don't feel the need to stop painting sheep yet, so on Monday, they'll probably be another posted.  Stay tuned.  Titled About Face because of the unusual pose.  Weekend blessings go out to you from me!

Snow in April "Snow in April", 6 x 6 inches, oil on board, $ 60.00   Woke up this morning to a snow scene.  Just a few days ago, we enjoyed temperatures in the upper 70's.  I almost raked the leaves off my strawberry patch.  Glad I didn't.   My daughter, Amy suggested I paint from today's snow, so I looked out the studio window and thought, gee really?  But then, I looked out the clerestory window and got inspired to paint this little piece.  If Amy hadn't suggested this, I would not have thought to capture today's unusual weather. I hear my poor mother trying to explain to Cooper that he can't jump on her lap for a back rub because she has a sore knee.  I can just imagine the tipped head and sad puppy-dog eyes he's giving her. When Cooper wants a back-rub, he jumps on your lap and sits with his back facing you.  My mom has a studio apartment in our home and he spends most of the day in her cozy apartment watching TV with her...
