6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board

I was fishing for ideas on what to paint today. Last Saturday, I cleaned and organized my studio. I had to make decisions on what books I would keep. I almost gave away my Business Law book from 1982. I'm going to die with my Max Doerner book in my studio. So I thought I would stack both books for today's painting.

My connection with these two books is the word consequences. If you break the law, your in trouble. If you break art law, your painting is in trouble. Most of the information in both books is obsolete now. Although reading either one could cure insomnia, they have strong meaning to me.

I'm not Roman Catholic but I do have a wonderment about the this process because it's so entwined in mystery. This little watercolor Cardinal was at my bird feeder where he grabbed a sunflower seed and quickly flew to a tree limb to perch and enjoy. After which he waits his turn to return.

Just love these adorable playful creatures. This otter and artist wish all a very safe and happy New Year's eve celebration. I have my wonderful granddaughter visiting and soon we'll be hitting the market to load up a cart full of junk food.
