I've been flipping the pages of my older sketchbooks for inspiration.  I remember when I made this drawing...It was a fine summer day and I was walking on my property, sketchbook and pencil in hand and spied this little guy.  I was very quiet and quickly got a gesture drawing, then took my time to add the environment. Indigo Bunting, 4 x 4 inches, Oil on Board Click to Bid I'm fortunate to have a mated pair of Indigo Buntings visiting my bird feeder.  I say that because I've had the bird feeder for over 10 years and my first sighting was last week.  The male of this species sports stunning ocean blue feathers...some teal in there also. I paint with a very limited palette, so I was challenged to come up with the right mixtures.  But it wasn't very long before I realized that mixing the right "Indigo" color wouldn't be enough.  So I subdued everything else, to include his cute little beak.

June Daisies & A Bee

http://www.dailypaintworks.com/buy/auction/61715 June Daisies & A Bee 5 x 5 inches, Oil on Board   I have daisies in two different flower beds on my property.  I also have more than one area with raspberries, both black and red.  So for the past few days after supper, I've been outside picking, watering, weeding and cutting.   For today's painting, I decided to return to the garden and clip a few very fresh daisies.  I've been experimenting with painting bees and decided to add one to this piece.  What is left for today is studio cleanup and then order dinner-in from our favorite Italian takeout. My wishes for a blessed weekend go out today. - Brande

Business & Art Law take two 6 x 6 inches, oil on board http://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/brande-arno/business-and-art-law-take-two/77676    ï»¿Something got into me with respect to my first attempt at painting these two books,  That post is just below this one.  Everything is the same EXCEPT that I scraped off the painting yesterday because I didn't like the out-come. Someone else did like it and asked about buying it.  So I repainted it today.  I was going to repaint it anyway.
